Dr. Lynne Meyer
Clinical Psychologist
I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over 27 years. My training was in South Africa and Los Angeles. I came from being a teacher psychologist to becoming a clinical psychologist.
The way I work is a hybrid and combination of my psychoanalytic training which involves deep processing of thoughts and feelings to be able to gain insight and meaning as well as Trauma theory and work. I am trained in Mindfulness so I combine ideas of meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, and exercise which help the body to release trauma so it can be processed by the mind.
The most important relationship is the one with the therapist. This is one of the most transformative tools of a therapist. I am warm, empathic, compassionate. I am flexible and I think outside of the box. I strive to be attuned in an empathic way. I use humor when I can to ease some of the tough processes that patients have to go through.
My goal is to help people achieve a healthier mental and emotional life. To not repeat past mistakes, traumas, or to make traumatic choices. It is ultimately a collaborative process between the therapist and the patient. It is a journey we embark on together to process, grow, make meaning, and achieve a more stable happier self.
